Julia Roberts And Clive Owen Teamed As Spies

 Julia Roberts and Clive Owen are teaming up for a movie called Duplicity. It’s kind of like Multiplicity, except completely different. There may however, be pizza.
Variety says the Tony Gilroy written and directed film is a caper pic set in the world of big business. Roberts and Owen play longtime lovers and spies on opposite sides who work together to rip off big companies. Sounds a lot like a sequel to Mr. and Mrs. Smith doesn’t it? Except I have a hard time imagining Julia Roberts in a black leather catsuit, firing guns while she hang glides off the top of a skyscraper. Seriously, Julia Roberts as a spy? Tony Gilroy wrote The Bourne Ultimatum. Can you imagine Julia as the female Bourne? No way that’ll work. She’s soft and comfortable. I can’t imagine her as a badass, especially when compared to Clive Owen, who can kill a man using only a carrot.
Julia and Clive last worked together on the movie Closer, where they played a much less adventurous, overly angsty couple. Granted Closer was lousy, but at least it was more Julia Roberts appropriate. A whiny, cheating, yuppie wife is much more her speed than some sort of super-spy.

 After years of rumors, false stars, and casting confusion the long awaited Sex and the City Movie is at least really happening. New Line Cinema has announced that their film version of the once popular television show started production today.
The last new episode of Sex in the City aired on February 22, 2004. The show starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon in the story of four female friends making their way through life and love in the city. |

As Halloween drew near this weekend, so did a franchise whose annual return to theaters has become an almost ridiculous tradition. Returning for a fourth Halloween helping the Saw series invaded and dominated theaters with the largest opening weekend in over two months.
Saw IV hauled in a shameless $31 million on its debut weekend. While the movie followed the trend of Saw films by generally being more poorly reviewed than its predecessors, it failed to continue the financial climb. Up to this point each movie had opened to a larger first weekend audience, peaking with last year's Saw 3 which raked in $33 million. Does this spell a down turn for the rapid-fire release franchise? | |
